Do you feel this way?

I’m learning that I can’t please everyone and that it’s not healthy to be someone you’re not.  In the long run the only thing you’ve accomplished is succeeding in being completely miserable.  For the last year or so I’ve decided that I’ll be me, you can love me or hate me, I am who I am.  That didn’t go over well with some people and they no longer associate with me.  Well, GOOD RIDDANCE!  I don’t need the drama or stress, I’m not a follower, I go to the beat of my own drum.  I realized this morning, the older I get, the less I give a damn what others think.  Anybody else feel this way?

Update...sort of

I'm still suffering the hives..rash..itch..whatever the hell it is on the back of my neck and shoulders. Went to the dr again last Thursday and he's at a loss also so my next step is to see a dermatologist. I'll have to go out to Hershey and I'm sure there will be a wait so I'm not thrilled. I have fingers crossed it doesnt take 3 months. In the meantime I suffer basically. I have 1 medicine that helps about 25% of the time but it makes me reaaallly sleepy so I can't take it all the time =[

My 7 year old starts school in the morning so no more sleeping in. We'll be up every morning at 6:30am. Unfortunately my sleep habits have been really bad lately so I know this first week is going to be rough lol. My 4 yr old does not nap at all ever either.

The weather has been funny lately so my Fibro is in major over drive. I'm having a lot of pain and migraines. I think this week is going to be all about the coffee and the sugar LOL.

Am I Invisible?

As I said in my intro I have Fibromyalgia, Arthritis and whole grab bag of other issues. I've had 3 knee surgeries on my right knee and eventually will need surgery on my left knee. I'm in constant pain on some level 24/7.

So I explained all that so you would understand why I'm so fired up lol.

This past Sunday we took our boys to Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster, PA. It's a really nice smaller amusement park here. We were there for the day and I knew i wouldn't be able to walk around all day long without suffering. I rented a scooter similar to the picture so that I could enjoy the day with my boys and my husband. I swear by sitting in that chair I became invisible for the day! I can not even count how many times people walked in front of me while I was moving! And if they weren't walking in front of me or blocking my path even when I said excuse me numerous times then I was getting dirty looks! I'm a very stubborn person and it bothers me to no end that at only 32 I've gotten to the point that I need to use scooters or canes sometimes. I was just dying for someone to actually say something to me about using it, but of course they all could stare and sneer but no one had the balls to actually say anything to me. At 32 years old I don't know why I still get so surprised by the idiocy of the human race, but here I sit, surprised.

Migraines

I’m not sure how many of you suffer from migraines, but I sure do.  My triggers…constant loud noises, like a group of motorcycles riding by or better yet when our neighbor upstairs  turns on his home theater and we can hear it down here, the reverb just about kills me.  The latest are storm clouds and stormy weather.  Unfortunately, Florida rains A LOT, so I tend to have frequent migraines.  My fiancĂ© calls it “raindar”.  If I feel crappy and it’s partly cloudy, you can bet it’s going to get worse!  I’ve been on Topamax and Imitrex,  but nothing works 100% so I figure I’ll have to live with it.  What meds have you tried?

Touch

Touch

Touch...it's not something most of us think about all that much. It's an automatic thing. You hug the one you love, you hold your significant other's hand, you pick your kids up when they cry, or you tickle to make someone laugh. But what if the smallest touch could make the one you love cry. This is what I, and i'm sure others, with Fibromyalgia live with. My husband has to wonder all the time, if he hugs me is he gonna hurt me? If he's teasing me and smacks my ass as he walks by am I gonna laugh or am I going to wind up with a bruise. It SUCKS!! I have to change position constantly when I lay down at night so he doesn't even get to cuddle with me much. And when he does, I have to make him move his arm, leg, whatever so that one spot doesnt hurt too much. It puts a strain on the relationship. I have to find other ways to show him that I love him and that this disease doesn't change how I feel about him. It affects my kids also. I can't always play with them when they want me to. I wind up with a lot of pain from the smallest bit of rough housing. I say again, it SUCKS!!

Today's question is what is your favorite movie?

labyrinth david bowie Pictures, Images and Photos

Labyrinth!!!

Hands down didn't even have to think about it LOL And can you blame me? I mean look at him!! This was definitely during his yummy stage =] I don't know what it is about this movie, except David Bowie of course, but from the first time I watched it I've been absolutely ADDICTED! I think the make up and effects were so amazing and cutting edge for movies at that time. I still watch this movie every chance I get and my 7 yr old and 4 yr old boys love it too. Thank goodness its on Netflix right now lol I literally wore out the dvd of it that I bought a few years ago =]

Favorite 15 minutes of the day

I got this idea from

What is your favorite 15 minute period of the day...

I love my kids I truly do, would not give them up for anything in the world. My husband works a 4am-2pm shift at work so I get to get up with the boys at the ass crack of dawn every day of the week but Sunday and Monday. My favorite time of the day is actually at night when they all go to bed. When they are all asleep and the tv is off I get to finally relax and enjoy a show on Netflix on my laptop and drink more than a sip of soda without having to get up and get someone else something lol. That's also the time I get to read the books that I'm reviewing. So yeah, about 8:30-9:00 is my FAVORITE time of day =]

ALLLL day long in my house!! LOL

Funnies

LOL Sounds like me!

Question of the day...Smartphones!

So my fiance and I are at the mechanics shop.  My lovely accessible van's A/C has decided to die.  We're walking (yes Jenn, I'm rolling) down the street and I find our cellphone provider has a store there.  I go in, because for the last few months my phone has  been hinkey (yup, my techie term LOL), today it decides no more picture texting.  I go in whining like a good spoiled brat.  The guy feels AWFUL!  Alan says, "Honey, pick out a new phone.  Your birthday is in 4 weeks...early birthday present!"  Cool!  So, I pick this Samsung Admire, so far I love it.  Of course my first text was to Jenn, hehehe.  They gave us a discount and transfered my stuff to my new phone for free, I AM SOOO SPOILED!!!

So, what kind of phones do you all have??

That damn Pinky Toe!

*NOT MY TOE

WHY do humans have pinky toes!!?? Yeah yeah I know..for balance blah blah blah. Seriously though can you think of anything else it's good for except for banging it into table legs, cabinets, beds and random whatevers that happen to be laying in it's way?? I'm pretty sure mine's been broken at least 3 or 4 times, probably more though. I just nailed it again on the portable dishwasher we have in front of our sink in the kitchen. I've come up with my most vulgar and creative curse words when I've stubbed that particular toe. Good thing it's still summer so I'm wearing flip flops 24/7.

What's the worst "little" boo boo you've had?

OMGosh! My worst is probably my broken thumb.  I didn't get it set or anything, just lived with the pain for 4 months.  Every time it started to heal I'd press on something or hit it and it'd start bleeding again. FUN, FUN, FUN!  Now of course I have arthritis it in and if my fibro kicks in, FORGET IT! I can't hold anything or bend my thumb without shooting nerve pain! ~Simmy

Funnies 8/6/12

Question of the day #1

I swiped this meme from Curious as a Cat for a way to jump start this blog!
We won't do this every day but when we are having a slow day I will try to find a really good question for our readers =]

I'll make this first one fun....

Cake or pie? And why?

Personally I have a very hard time choosing. It just depends on if I'm in a fruit or chocolate mood lol~Jennifer

Most times, for me it's pie, unless it's Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting, then that wins hands down! LOL ~Simmy
