Music Monday

I came across this group quite by accident but was so intrigued by their sound that I had to share!

From their FB page:

The Birthday Massacre is from Toronto, Canada. Combining their interests in various musical and artistic styles, the band has successfully accumulated an impressive international fan base, press accolades, and defied categorization with their unique sound and visuals.

The band was formed in 1999 and independently produced and recorded their first two albums, Nothing and Nowhere and Violet. Throug
h both of these high-demand releases, as well as their highly acclaimed and beautifully atmospheric website, the band obtained a large and loyal fan base throughout the world. Due to their independent success, in 2005 they were approached and signed by Metropolis Records and the band began its steady climb to reaching a much wider audience with the 2007 release of the acclaimed and wildly popular Walking With Strangers.

In the last few years, the band has been performing internationally, traveling extensively across Canada, the United States, Mexico, Australia, the U.K. and Europe. They have become renowned for their high-energy live performances, drawing large, mixed crowds through their appeal to fans of a surprisingly wide range of genres. Equally comfortable playing intimate venues as they are on a festival stage, the band's highly-praised performances will continue into the next year as they continue touring.

Their fourth full length album "Pins And Needles", released September of 2010, landed on the Billboard Top 200 chart and in the top 10 of Billboard's Heatseekers chart.
Currently, the band is writing and recording new music and preparing for shows in 2011.

When has being right been wrong?

Ever noticed when you freely use your right to express yourself, suddenly it becomes no longer your right as others jump down your throat for expressing yourself?

That has been the case with my family.  They ask advice, you give it and suffer for it. It doesn’t even matter that you’re right.  You’ll always be wrong and pay dearly.  For example, my parents weren’t getting along and Mom asked what she should do.  I was honest and told her the truth…If you’re so miserable, maybe it’s time to end it and move on.  A few months later, they made up, but my mother made sure my father knew I’d told her to leave him.  She neglected to tell him why I’d said it, only that I did.  That was twelve years ago and the relationship with either of my parents has never ever been  the same.  My mother twisted what I'd said to her advantage and Dad was too pissed to hear my side.  Sometimes doing the right thing can be SO wrong!

Carpal Tunnel Sucks

09112012677

Yep..that's my wrist up there =[ My arm has been killing me for about 2 weeks now and I don't go back to the dr until Oct 29th. So that brace is a temporary cheapy while I wait for the one I ordered on Ebay to get here. I got a nice one with a gel insert that you can make hot or cold. I'm hoping it helps hold me over until the dreaded dr apt.

So if you see skipped days for posts for the challenge this would be why *sigh* Thankfully I'm fairly caught up with my review blog for the next little bit, I have everything staged so I only have to type more than a few minutes every couple of days lol.

If your curious here's my other blog

Anyone have any good ideas or things that they do for CT to pass on to me that might help?

Favorite Teacher

Today's question is who was your favorite teacher...

I hated math in school...any and all kinds of math lol. However my junior year math teacher was one of my favorite teachers...go figure lol. As much as I hated the math, he made the class fun and made it easy to understand. I actually managed to learn and understand a  lot that year.

Stove Top Mac and Cheese

The question of the day is what is your favorite go to recipe...

Ours is our stove top mac and cheese...we got it from a friend when we were down in FL. It's so cheap and easy and the boys love it.

All you need...

Pound of pasta
1/2 Block of Velveeta or store brand cheese
Milk
Butter

All you do...

Boil the pasta in a large enough pan
Drain
Lower heat
Cut up and add cheese, milk and butter
Let cheese melt and stir

Done!

You can add anything you want to it like different cheeses, vegetables, even chicken or sausage

Of course my boys have to be gross (to me anyways lol) and smother it with ketchup lol

whats your favorite go to recipe?

Michael Clarke Duncan

Today's prompt was supposed to be "Have you ever met a celebrity? If not, which one would you like to meet?" But after seeing the news about Michael Clarke Duncan last night I decided to do a short post about him...

Dec. 10, 1957-Sept 3, 2012

He was only 54
He suffered a MI in July and never fully recovered

I remember him most for The Green Mile. That was an amazing movie and is still one of my favorites.
I loved him as John Coffey. I also enjoyed him in a lot of his other movies and shows like The Finder, The Scorpion King, Armageddon and The Whole Nine Yards. He was an amazing actor and will be missed by many.
