Touch

Touch

Touch...it's not something most of us think about all that much. It's an automatic thing. You hug the one you love, you hold your significant other's hand, you pick your kids up when they cry, or you tickle to make someone laugh. But what if the smallest touch could make the one you love cry. This is what I, and i'm sure others, with Fibromyalgia live with. My husband has to wonder all the time, if he hugs me is he gonna hurt me? If he's teasing me and smacks my ass as he walks by am I gonna laugh or am I going to wind up with a bruise. It SUCKS!! I have to change position constantly when I lay down at night so he doesn't even get to cuddle with me much. And when he does, I have to make him move his arm, leg, whatever so that one spot doesnt hurt too much. It puts a strain on the relationship. I have to find other ways to show him that I love him and that this disease doesn't change how I feel about him. It affects my kids also. I can't always play with them when they want me to. I wind up with a lot of pain from the smallest bit of rough housing. I say again, it SUCKS!!

My dad has Fibro and he has his good days and his bad days. You can tell when he's having a bad day. I can't imagine how tough it is for anyone who has to live with that daily.

  4. I don't know jack about Fibro but from what I have heard, it sucks. =(

I'm guessing if you can't handle a smack on the ass, that swinging from the chandeliers is out of the question, right? >.<

Try to hang in there. Oh and use google... I'm sure you could get some idea's off there. :)

  13. Fibromyalgia is a very misunderstood disease. I'm sorry you and your family too have to suffer such difficult symptoms. It sounds like you have a good, open understanding with your family. <3

  15. Yes, after 19 years of living with it, I can say, "Fibro sucks." My children don't remember what it was like to have a energetic, healthy mother. However, they grew up to be compassionate adults.

  17. I have a friend with Fibro that says this drug is a wonder drug and really helped take the pain and depression away and give her a life back: Cymbalta. If you've never tried it, I'd suggest asking your doctor about it and see if it might be a possible solution to get some relief. So sorry you have to suffer with it. I hate seeing my friend deal with this all the time. She is such a sweetheart. I hope you can find relief soon.

  18. As you know, I am a FM fellow. I just wrote a guest post today about living with this silent disease. I look the same on the outside, but my whole world has changed. I pray your strength, and I agree, it sucks. Here's to you, my friend.

  19. My friend has fibro and it is a daily struggle. So many people assume because you look ok that you are fine and not sick. They have no idea what is going on inside your body.
